March 30, 200620 yr The Islanders are realistically out of the playoff race. 10 points is way too much to make up with 9 games left.
March 30, 200620 yr We are 6 points down. The good news is that we are fighting for three spots, not just one. That should increase our chances that one of the teams currently in the playoffs might start to tail. We almost controll our own destiny. We get 3 games vs the lightning, if we win all three games would would tie them, and probably have a tie breaker over them. Lets go one game at a time and see what happens
March 30, 200620 yr Author and probably have a tie breaker over them. The tie-breaker in the NHL is wins first, then head to head match ups. They have 38 we have 33. So we'd need to win all three games, and then out of the other 7 we'd need to win 2 more than them to pull into a tie just to get to the head to head tie breaker, which we'd win.
