May 29, 200620 yr Im planning on moving to Southern Florida after I graduate college and I was wondering where the best and cheapest place to live is. Ive heard there are some pretty rough places down there as there is in every state. Id like to live in a decent place. Ive been to Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood to visit some friends. Ive been in Hollywood around Roosevelt Dr. and it seems more of the ghetto type and Ive been around SE 17th St. in Fort Lauderdale and it seems expensive. Id also like a place within a reasonable distance of the stadium. Are jobs easy to get down there because where im from its a pain in the a$$ to find a decent job. Any help would be appreciated.
May 29, 200620 yr South Florida is generally what-you-see-is-what-you-get. Very simple to live down there if you have a decent-paying job and a ton of patience. It can be very fun to live anywhere in the Southern part of Florida (read from coast-to-coast from Lake Okeechobee southward) as long as you follow the rules I just set. Live in the city....make and spend more money usually. Here in Southwest Florida is the best though Good luck! What line of work are you in?

I have lived in southern Florida my entire life and lived in Dade, Monroe, and Broward Counties for 15 years and I have plenty of family and visit enough (I live only 2 hours away) to still stay current on most things like when I used to live there.

Boonies? Since when is Westchester/FIU and Pembroke Pines the boonies? Maybe it is the boonies to you inner city dwellers, but to most of the Metro South Florida population that would be closer to home than Downtown or Miami Beach. Touchy? Shaq-Man's View My View As for the original question...South Florida has many wonderful neighborhoods and they should be explored individually as they can differ street-by-street depending on your taste. Broward County has many more suburbs that were built after Andrew while Dade County's suburbs as much older and more established neighborhoods. At the end of the day, the neighbors make or break it.

Pick any point on a Floridian map and you have work...electrical work is needed all the time and everywhere.
