March 25, 200322 yr Author i thought when they said "poised for a breakthrough" that meant they could have a good year
March 26, 200322 yr Yes, but the words 'perennial tease' means that they tease us each year with the same stuff. This is the year the Marlins come through!!! :w00t
March 27, 200322 yr Yes, but the words 'perennial tease' means that they tease us each year with the same stuff. as usual.. even with Pudge, to them we're a load of crap...
March 27, 200322 yr I think the Marlins could suprise the league. That is if the pitching stays healthy (and I'm not optimistic about that). Besides that, the only problem is the division we play in. Every team in it is good! Why can we go and play in the NL or AL Central (except obvious geography reasons)? We could really win a lot of games in those divisions!!
March 27, 200322 yr I think the ranking is pretty fair. It puts them right in the middle. On paper and based on our history, that's probably about right. The team's been hovering right around .500 the last couple of years. There are also several pitchers and position players with injury histories, so to make the jump from average to very good they need to have healthy pitching and an offense that exceeds expectations. The writer admits the Marlins have the ability to contend, hence the "tease" comments. It's like saying the team could be up in the top 10....but until they show it, they'll stay in the middle of the pack.
