July 7, 200619 yr I heard it. Not a very interesting interview thanks to Dan & Stu. Dan's Spanish is incredibly horrible. I know people who have taken 3 months of Berlitz classes who speak better Spanish. It would have probably been better if they had just let Miggy speak English.
July 7, 200619 yr Maybe Miggy should learn English.....its been a few years now. Last I heard, 790AM was still an English language station. When Cabrera speaks (in English) I haven't a clue what he is saying.
July 8, 200619 yr If Miggy learns English, he could be a marketing powerhouse. Did he say anything of note?

I know people who have taken 3 months of Berlitz classes who speak better Spanish. It would have probably been better if they had just let Miggy speak English. I didn't hear it but I think that's probably what happened. I've heard Cabrera's English and it's okay. Le Batard doesn't speak Spanish as well as Cabrera speaks English so he probably messed it up by trying to speak Spanish and Cabrera had no clue what Dan was saying.. sort of like when Dan interviewed Roberto Duran. That was so bad it was funny.
July 8, 200619 yr Maybe Miggy should learn English.....its been a few years now. Last I heard, 790AM was still an English language station. When Cabrera speaks (in English) I haven't a clue what he is saying. Dan said he thought Miggy could do it in English but he insisted on conducting the interview that way because he said he feels players' answers are more colorful when they speak in their native tongue. Stu was asking the questions in English and Dan did all the "translating." I think Miggy now knows enough to make himself understood and to understand most of what is being said. Then again, having always worked for international companies I am very accustomed to accents of all kinds. Just to be clear it was not Miggy who demanded the translations.
July 9, 200619 yr what was the interview about? He said he was most looking forward to the HR Derby. There really wasn't much. Dan loves those stupid questions like "if a sports commentator told you he was very afraid of frogs what would you think?"
