August 3, 200620 yr Stand off on Dale Mabry near Fletcher an Associated Press report 08/03/06 TAMPA - Police are in a standoff with a suspect right now near the intersection of Dale Mabry and Fletcher Ave. The suspect is armed and has barricaded himself in his car. At the request of law enforcement, we have stopped all live transmission for the moment. Here's what we know... earlier this afternoon, a deputy saw a man force a woman into his car at the Sweet Tomatoe's restaurant near the intersection of Bearss and Dale Mabry. The deputy began to follow the car, before stopping on Dale Mabry south of Fletcher where the suspect's vehicle was surrounded. Deputies say the woman got out of the car safely. Investigators say the suspect is armed... and has fired several shots at deputies. Deputies say he is a 49-year old man from east Hillsborough County. They describe this as a domestic incident.
