September 29, 200619 yr Nomar was banged up today so James Loney got the start. Loney, 22, simply drove in 9 runs in just 6 innings. He slugged a second-inning grand slam, doubled in two runs in the third inning, singled in a run in the fifth inning and lined a two-run homer in the sixth. He tied a 56-year old record for the Dodgers in terms of RBI, set by Gil Hodges. Absurd. Oh, yeah the Dodgers won by a score of 19-11 over the Rockies. Box
September 29, 200619 yr Many Dodger fans will disagree with your "best backup ever" assessment but today he was shiny gold to say the least. Huge win for the Dodgers and congrats to Loney for bringing it today.
September 29, 200619 yr It's amazing how the Dodgers have gone out and gotten some solid players over the years and have still maintained one of the top 10 farm systems in baseball. Loney, Kemp, Broxton, Billingsley, Ethier, and more this team is loaded.
