October 3, 200620 yr uggla did his thing.... but hanley did more down the stretch... he had a 10 game hitting streak to end september with 6 doubles 2 hr's and a tripple.... plus he was among the top 3 for stolen bases in NL.... he had the most hits in a single month then any other player in the NL did and it was during september with 43 hits... and that was down the stretch when the team was ina wildcard race... the team didnt make it... but hanley still put up great numbers trying to get them there... uggla kinda fell off on the month of september on the last roadtrip i believe he ofor'd in new york and had a hit or two in philly.... hanley had 46 doubles, 11 triples , 17 home runs, 119 runs, 59 RBI's, 185 Hits, .480 sluggin percentage, .292 batting average... as a lead off player... plus he was injured twice in the season... thats more rbi's for any marlins lead off.. castillo held the previous record with 47 i believe... and pierre with i believe 43.... i also belive marlins lead off home runs record was like 5 or 6.... hanley hit 17.... as for uggla... yes... he is an all-star well deserved... lead the team with home runs... but evryone tends to judge players by home runs.... this is ROOKIE OF THE YEAR not rookie battin title nor rookie home run title...... if hanley wouldnt of got on base so many times uggla hitting behind him wouldnt have as many rbi's neither would cabrera.... just my 2cents... :whistle
October 5, 200620 yr I love Dan Uggla, but Hanley Ramirez's stats cannot be ignored. over 45 Doubles, 11 Triples, over 50 Stolen Bases, and as a lead off hitter he hit 17 Homers and over 55 RBI. those are pretty darn good numbers.
