I want to personally congratulate you the Marlins fans as well as the Marlins themselves for their macro-resiliant victory over the Cubs this past evening. Most opponents the Cubs faced this season would have mailed it in after spotting them a 4-0 lead. Most of those same teams would have gone on to blow the game after the wrong Alex Gonz?lez went deep to tie the game. And they also would have gone on to lose after the Great Satan tied it in the 9th with his Waveland Avenue blast. But you did not fold. Unlike those wuss teams the Cubs feasted on to get here, you took all that adversity and shoved it right back in those Cubs' faces.

 

I was contributing to your game thread, and certainly some of you expressed your worst fears when the bad things happened. As a White Sox fan, I see where you were coming from very well. It would not surprise me if everyone watching the game tonight at the Elbo Room on Ft. Lauderdale Beach walked to the Las Olas Bridge and prepared to hurl themselves into the Intercoastal Waterway if the Marlins lost.

 

However, your team is resiliant. You faced adversity several times in the NLDS against the Giants. Except for Game 1, you came through every time. And you repeated that resiliancy tonight. The Cubs beat many teams in 2003. But they are winless against teams that are resiliant.

 

Kick Prior's a** tomorrow. Trust me, you play with the heart against Prior you showed tonight, kicking his a** will be easier than you think.

Big win... I wish my Sox had shown 1/4 that much heart this year; else we'd be gettin' ready to battle with Boston for the ALCS.

i swear on my 1997 opening day baseball that i never gave up on this team for a second tonight. for once my dad didnt either (which shocked the hell out of me since he is very negative). my bro on the otherhand continues to be a pr**K when we are losing so i made him go to his room.

the rest of literally called every homerun made. my dad called pudge, i called miggy, my mom called enc, and my dad called lowell again. the only time i doubted was when my dad said lowell would hit a walk off homerun. i knew he would do something huge and i wanted him to hit a homerun so bad, i just thought it was too wild. i will never again leave any room for doubt during a game. i almost teared up when lowell ripped that one. to not play for so long and then come back during the playoffs to help your team out with the game deciding run... damn i love everyone on this team so much.

Personally, the most resilient team I've ever seen. Just unbelievable. Watched it here at Valparaiso University at a bar near here and the place went silent on Lowell's HR. Music to my ears. Just great. Congrats and thank you Marlins. Your team is lucky to have fans like you. Bring it home guys. Prior is tough but who knows what could happen with you guys.
