Posted December 9, 200618 yr THIS IS PER THE SUN-SENTINEL (FRONT PAGE OF TODAYS BUSINESS SECTION) Residents of Palm Beach, Broward, Martin and St.Lucie counties whose names were sold by the state motor vehicle departments to Fidelity Federal Bank and Trust are eligible for as much as $160 next year through a class-action settlement. Residents may be included if they registered a new or used car in Florida between May 1,2000 and Sept 30, 2003 (I bought a new 2002 Xterra :thumbup ) A claims form must be sent to Fidelity, postmarked NO LATER than MONDAY, to receive the settlement. CLAIMS FORMS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY @ www.claimsinformation.com Click on "current cases" and then on "Fidelity DPPA settlement. Information and mailing instructions are also posted. Payments will be mailed to people in the first quarter of 2007. Estimates are that A HALF A MILLION SOUTH FLORIDA residents are eligible.
