Posted January 2, 200718 yr Eight of BALCO ten failed steroid test Barry Bonds - OF - SF - Dec. 29 - 9:45 am et It was revealed Wednesday that eight of the 10 players implicated in the BALCO investigation failed steroid tests in 2003. According to his attorney, Bonds wasn't one of the eight. "My response to that is that's all well and good, but that means two players didn't test positive and Barry is one of the two," attorney Michael Rains said. "What a terrible break for the government that eight of the 10 players tested positive, but Barry didn't. I think it's another nail in their coffin in trying to go after Barry." A terrible break for the government or a tribute to Bonds' chemist. Other players implicated in the BALCO investigation included Jason Giambi, Gary Sheffield, Benito Santiago, Randy Velarde, Marvin Benard, Armando Rios and Bobby Estalella. Dec. 29 - 9:45 am et Source: New York Post Eight of BALCO ten failed steroid test:Link Well it looks like the chance of Bonds getting indicted is pretty much next to nil. Hopefully this witchhunt will end cause the goverment has no intrest in steroids but in just destroying Bonds. Who knows maybe not only the ones we love to hate were roiders but maybe baseball heros like Ripken or Jeter were cheating during the Steroid Era, but you don't for sure. Its either you get them all by using previous confidential tests under record or just let it go. Yes its a blotch on the sport but the Home run race between McGwire and Sosa is the sole reason why baseball isn't in the cellar of the ecletecon of sports. You gotta take the bad with the good and once you can look back upon something all you can do is critique that history. They should stop looking back into it, digging around, and forget it. Do everything you can to stop roiders in the present and implement Olympic style testing for the future. With this Bonds will go on cruise control til he passes 755. He'll retire and the rest of the class of the Steroid Era (everyone from 1990-2004) will just fade into retirement . Yes some will make the Hall of Fame but that's baseball.
January 2, 200718 yr You do realize that this is coming from his attorney, right? That's someone who would be pretty knowledgable on the topic of Bonds, no?
January 2, 200718 yr Attorneys say whatever they want to make their client get off to the public. People think they're scum anyways, so who cares? We'll see what happens when the results are released.
