LUCIE ? Marlins infielders Robert Andino and Alfredo Amezaga each will take at least another day to recover from their collision Saturday. "They're sore, but it's just your typical soreness from a collision," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. Gonzalez said Amezaga could return Tuesday but Andino would be out a bit longer. Andino was taken off the field in a golf cart after the two collided while chasing a single up the middle by the Dodgers' Delwyn Young. Amezaga remained in the game before being lifted for a pinch hitter. The initial reports were Amezaga had a stiff neck and Andino a stiff back. Andino, the team's Class AAA shortstop last season, was playing second base. Amezaga was at shortstop. "That's our plan for him, let him play a little second base," Gonzalez said. "That's great for the organization. That's great for him." Andino's future became clouded when the Marlins acquired Hanley Ramirez before the 2006 season. Ramirez, 23, went on to win rookie of the year while Andino, 22, hit .255 at Albuquerque. Andino has played 28 games with the Marlins the past two years. Put me in coach: When Ramirez noticed he was not on the list to travel to Port St. Lucie on Sunday, he asked to make the trip. Gonzalez agreed, but only if the Mets agreed to use a designated hitter, which they did and Ramirez was the extra hitter and batted leadoff. Ramirez was 1-for-4 in the 5-5 tie. Three reassigned: As expected, right-hander Chris Volstad of Palm Beach Gardens was reassigned to minor-league camp. Outfielder Brett Carroll and catcher Brad Davis also were reassigned. Noteworthy: Right-hander Jose Garcia is not expected to play catch until Tuesday or Wednesday. Garcia has not thrown since March 3 because of an inflamed elbow. ... The Marlins face the Twins today at Fort Myers. Dontrelle Willis will start against Boof Bonser.

Scott Seabol Well I feel much better knowing that Scott Seabol is out there as a utility infielder fighting against the forces of darkness. I realize the injuries aren't serious, but I would have liked to see the team bring in at least one more legitimate utility infielder.
