Fish nearly hooked Erstad

Well at least they were trying...

Sounds like it was just an issue of being close to family at this stage in his life. But he seemed impressed with the Marlins & Loria for trying so hard to get him.

He would've been a full-time starter here, instead he'll platoon with the White Sox... ?

Am I the only one who thinks perhaps Berardino is softening his usual ugly rhetoric regarding the Marlins this spring?

It has after all been almost four years since the Fish gave the scoop of Torborg's firing to the Herald (after Mike had been one of, or perhaps the most vocal team supporter in the press) and set Berardino off, declaring his jihad against the Fish. Perhaps someone has finally brought the two parties together or the Marlins have reached out or Mike has finally said enough is enough but I sense a change in his columns that is at the very least refreshing.

I certainly hope it's true this time. There's been a few hit and miss attempts in the past. Maybe this one will stick.
