John Smoltz with 200 wins

Featured Replies

oops, i forgot this game was on tbs, but smoltz won his 200th game tonight, pretty much earning his ticket to cooperstown to go with his 154 saves. he pitched seven shutout innings for the win, beating his old friend glavine again and we win another mets series.

One of the biggest class acts going.

I love that guy.

Probably going to end up with ~240 wins for his career. Damn impressive.

note this: smoltz is the only man with 150 saves and 200 wins in his career. he can start and close well, and consider that some of those wins came in relief.

I can't wait to see what the win totals from Maddux, Smoltz, and Glavine will be when its all said and done.

I remember despising the Braves back then because they always seemed to win. But now I realize how special it was to be able to watch them pitch as a Marlins fan for years.

Arguably the greatest threesome of pitchers in the modern game to ever play together.

More importantly, Smoltz got his well-deserved 200th win. He is just a freak of pitching nature.
