June 19, 200719 yr I've seen better defense on little league teams and it's embarrassing to watch. The defense is hurting the pitchers who lead the league in walks. I bet they're pressing because they know they can't let the other team hit the baseball because the defense is so lousy.

June 19, 200719 yr Ok, I'll bite. They make 2.4 errors for every 100 put outs. How does this make them likely to make an error? If anything, it shows that an error is pretty unlikely.

I'm guessing the reason we lead in walks is because we've been starting guys like obermueller, kim, RVH, as well as the fact that Willis and Olsen can't find the strikezone to save their lives. I bet it has very little to do with it.

Either way pitchers walking too many guys and committing too many errors is a formula for losing a lot of games
June 20, 200719 yr Wouldn't a pitcher's psyche be more impacted or hurt by walks than with errors? Players who reach base by walking are charged to the pitcher. Hitters who reach on error are not.
