Need Some Opinions

I need a new car stereo because I'm sick of dealing with my sh*tty Sony Xplode. I'm considering getting the JVC KD-S23. It does everything I want, but I can't seem to find any reviews.

Not bad, and worth considering since it's only $50 more. The HD FM isn't really a selling point for me though because I don't listen to the radio. I mainly need it to play all of burned MP3 cds and all of my other cd's. My Sony one is retarded and only plays certain discs. The one you linked though, sounds nice. I'm probably going to keep my car for a few more years unless I get a good deal on something better.

I recently changed the CD deck in my car to a JVC. I got the JVC KDPDR30 and it's been great. It has all the same features as the one you posted with an iPod connection as well. If you have an iPod, I highly recommend it. No need for MP3 CDs, though it plays those too. The cable to connect your iPod just goes in your glove compartment.

Actually, the MP3 CDs are a big thing to me. I download all the sermons from Calvary Chapel and burn them to disc. On my iPOD, it's all just music, but I like to keep the sermons on disc so that I can just pop them in whenever.

You all consider JVC the best brand to buy?

Best brand for the buck. There are some slightly better products out there but you will pay a huge premium for the name. JVC has a really strong offering without taking cost into account so I feel like it's a no brainer.

It's the same for me with HDTV's. Sure, the Sony's are the best on the market but the Samsungs are ALMOST as good and at a 30%-40% discount. Why pay the extra $$ for such an insignificant increase in quality that you won't even miss?

What other brands would you consider?

Well, Kenwood is pretty good with most of their models. I am a big fan of www.crutchfield.com if you want to take a look. You can enter your vehicle's year, make, and model and they give some solid recommendations based on what would fit your vehicle. They also have a really intelligent and well-read customer base with some of the better reviews online.

Sweet Ill take a look... I mean Ive been wanting to get a new unit in my car, just havent had the time really... Plus I want it to match and look good since its a new car

How would you say their prices compare to stores and stuff? Cheaper?

I've had a Kenwood in my car almost 5 years now and I've had no problems with it whatsoever. It plays MP3s and the display changes colors. It was moderately priced when I bought it, which was almost 5 years ago, so I'm sure an equivalent model would be even cheaper now.
