October 17, 200322 yr Not that this team ever feels pressure, but we are now America's Team. Fighting against evil, protecting all that is good. Taking on the New York Yankees, the Marlins are defending everything that's RIGHT about America, the world, and the universe in general. They must stick up for the little guy, fight for all the lesser teams that couldn't make it this far, and couldn't afford a better team. They must defend life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, fair play, children, puppies, beautiful women, beer, cheeseburgers, rock-&-roll, the beach, double-headers, the hit-and-run, sunsets, Steve Bartman, Anna Kournikova, and deep-dish pizza. We're even fighting for the Cubs and Red Sox at this point I'll bet. You thought this town had some pile-on, bandwagon fans? I have a feeling that wagon's going to get a lot heavier.... Go Marlins.
October 17, 200322 yr It seems people are not looking at the Marlins as such a big underdog anymore. On ESPN.com, the poll question asks who will win the World Series. The Marlins are trailing, but only 55% to 45%, a lot closer than I thought it would be. As we have seen with those Sprint Virtual Manager polls, the number of fans a team has plays a big part in these polls. Since the Yankees have more fans overall, this poll shows the unbiased fan may not be seeing the Marlins as the underdog.
October 17, 200322 yr Author This will give me an awesome target to vent my hated and loathing of New Yorkers and everything from New York. (present company excluded) Die Yankees Die! Bring it on you bunch of pampered millionaires!!! :ninja
