Jeff
I have sources close to me that say the Marlins have some interest in Jermaine Dye. I don't know if these rumors are true but they are floating around. What do you think of Dye and would he fit on the Marlins?
Ramp
Well he is having the worst year of his career. Can't hit righties. Makes $7mil. Can't play catcher.

Well the Marlins were on the verge of getting Jacque Jones a couple of weeks ago who is also a right fielder in the worst year of his career. Junior
Well he is having the worst year of his career. Can't hit righties. Makes $7mil. Can't play catcher. He can't defend either. He's really been trash this year.
Out of the Past
I would rather get pitching help but Dye would be a much better pick-up than Jones so if the Marlins were after Jones I have no idea why anyone would question the Marlins going after Dye. I see no point in getting Dye. I mean I would love to have an extra bat who can much likely bounce back, but I like the idea of just staying young, no need to throw away our young talent for a veteran that is not showing any signs of improvement and has already played to his full abilities. MarlinsLou
Willingham .821 OPS, club controlled and club controlled Hermida .737 OPS, club controlled and club controlled Dye .673 OPS, prorated portion of $7 million dollars and a free agent Getting Jermaine Dye is idiotic. Well the Marlins were on the verge of getting Jacque Jones a couple of weeks ago who is also a right fielder in the worst year of his career. Who can play center field adequately

Who can play center field adequately :thumbup Dye hasn't ever been (max four games in one season in his career and that was 1996) a centerfielder. To what end? At what price? As I've said the next four weeks give or take are going to be crazy. maybe someone should start a "All trade rumors go here thread" because it's going to be nuts this year with so many teams with at least a shot at contending.
