I like Holden's movies more than I like him. His costars usually gave better performances than he did.

Stalag 17 (the Betty Grable obsessed guy)

The Bridge on the River Kwai (Alec Guiness)

Sunset Boulevard (Gloria Sawnson)

Network (Peter Finch)

I don't really like The Wild Bunch but I'd still go Ernest Borgine(?) over him.

What about Tom Hanks? He's been in quite a few good movies:

Saving Private Ryan

The Green Mile

Toy Story (and Toy Story 2)

Forrest Gump

Apollo 13

Philadelphia

A League of their Own

Sleepless in Seattle

Big

Splash

Bachelor Party ["And remember, bitches back in 45 minutes, or Milt cuts your balls off!"]

It's pretty amazing how many good directors Tom Cruise has worked with...

And in a stream of consciousness moment, that reminds me of how many great movies Dustin Hoffman has been in:

The Graduate

Midnight Cowboy

Papillon

All the President's Men

Marathon Man

Kramer vs. Kramer

Rain Man

Tootsie

Run Away Jury

I think most of those are far from great and I think Runaway Jury is garbage.

I don't really like The Wild Bunch (it had problems with narrative for me) but I'd still go Ernest Borgine(?) over him.

Guinness was great on The Bridge but I think the Betty Grabble guy was "Animal" and I would prefer if he was edited out of the movie. This is the kind of movie I can watch over and over but after so many times Animal gets annoying.
