hi there mb.com...i was just wondering how to keep so many damn programs from starting up everytime i turn on my computer because it takes like 10 minutes for everything to load and id like to knock that down a smidge...thanks for your help in advance

ps. i have windows xp home if that helps

Start -> Run -> Type msconfig -> Click OK -> Click Startup tab -> Uncheck programs that you don't need to start

If you have Spybot, one of the features is a registry monitor. I highly recommend it.

For programs already in the registry, go to Start -> Run and type in 'REGEDIT'. You can play with it from there.

Any update checkers, like for Java. Any sort of pre-start, like QuickTime, Real, Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader.
