Posted September 8, 200717 yr The 2007 Rugby World Cup got underway yesterday in France with an upset victory by Argentina over host nation and perennial favorites France, 17-12. I know there's not much love for this sport around here, but it really is fun to watch. If you like football, it's the grandfather of it. Matches today include the New Zealand All Blacks v. the Azzurri of Italy. The Wallabies (Australia) take on Japan and England faces the USA. New Zealand is probably the greatest rubgy playing nation of all time and the favorites to win it this year. Here's the rankings top ten as of the start of the World Cup: 1. New Zealand 2. Australia 3. France 4. South Africa 5. Ireland 6. Argentina 7. England 8. Wales 9. Italy 10. Samoa The 2003 Rugby World Cup was the 2nd most attended sporting event of the decade, right after the FIFA World Cup, and the 3rd most watched (FIFA WC and Olympics), with 3.5 billion worldwide spectators.
September 8, 200717 yr Author New Zealand completely dismantles Italy, 76-14. Total of 11 tries (touchdowns) from the All Blacks.
September 8, 200717 yr Author Anyone who watches sports has seen the All Blacks do this kind of aboriginall dance before matches... I'd probably crap my pants if I was on an opposing team watching this.
September 8, 200717 yr By far the best dance in the world. It defenetely gets you pumped up. New Zealand is always a candidate, but Im also putting South Africa in there as possible champs. Anyone has a list of whos playing?
September 8, 200717 yr Author Holy smokes Australia just stampeded through Japan, 91-3!!!!!! 13 tries for the Wallabies.

September 9, 200717 yr Author USA defeated by England today, 28-10. Not a bad defeat for the Eagles, considering England is one of the best in the world.
September 10, 200717 yr Yes I am watching it. I got Setanta Sports they have been showing re-runs of yesterday's games all day, as well as the live games. Non stop rugby it's so freakin awesome. The All-Blacks absolutely trounced the Italians...the level of fitness, the support, the kicking, and the accuracy on all their passes even dump passes while they are getting tackled...truly an amazing team to watch play Rugby. I'm satisfied Italy managed 2 tries, almost 3 with one in the last minutes getting called back. The USA keeping England from scoring 4 tries (and therefore getting the bonus point) was an absolute upset. The game is on re-run now, I missed it yesterday so I'm gonna go watch. Great performance by the Eagles. Rugby pwns.
September 10, 200717 yr Also Ireland unimpressive in beating Namibia...loads of dropped passes.Read about past and upcoming matches on uk yahoo sports:http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/rugby/index.html
September 15, 200717 yr Author Big win for South Africa over England, 36-0 yesterday. New Zealand completely disrespects Portugal. 108-13 today. Friggin All Blacks.
October 4, 200717 yr Quarterfinals are set. Italy just barely missed qualification, losing 18-16 to Scotland after missing a drop goal with 4 minutes left to play that would have won it. Great effort. Australia - England 06/10 ore 21 New Zealand - France 06/10 ore 21 South Africa - Fiji 07/10 ore 21 Argentina - Scotland 07/10 ore 21
