Posted November 11, 200717 yr I've been searching MLB's much improved winter league coverage for Marlins players and have found a few, and more noticably a number missing - Pinto (thank god he finally shut down after almost two years straight pitching), and Amezaga are (at least by me) nowhere to be found. So if anyone has a list of where Marlins players, major leaguers or minor leaguers are playing this winter, I'll do my best to keep track of their performances.
November 11, 200717 yr Wasn't the solution last season mainly spanish language reports on a weekly basis?
November 11, 200717 yr Wasn't the solution last season mainly spanish language reports on a weekly basis? yep, it worked pretty well I won't be doing any reporting this year, to my dismay the Puerto Rican Winter league has taken a year off to regroup and solidify their finances. I am really missing it, and my Ponce Leones (Lions)
November 11, 200717 yr Author Wasn't the solution last season mainly spanish language reports on a weekly basis? Yes, but this year MLB has really made a quantum leap forward by reporting all game summaries in english and team + batting + pitching stats, while 24- 48 hours or so behind, fresh. It's everything you could ask for. I'm rather impressed they've made this commitment it's just that cross-referencing every Marlins minor (or major) leaguer against all the rosters is a royal pain the ass, it's an almost hopeless cause, so I'm hoping somewhere there's a list of what Marlins personnel are playing in what league, or even better what team, or someone who follows the winter leagues more than I, has already done the work. I was thinking of asking Joe Frisaro to dig up the list. Last year was a nightmare. Marcos Carvajal is pitching in Venezuela with a 2.20+/- ERA and except for one game where he walked five guys in an inning and a third, he's seems to be doing well. But it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack with regards to others.

They actually werre already doing it last year but the spanish reporting is much more comprehensive and insightfull BTW come to think of it 2003 I never saw anything published except for the assigments to the Hawaian League and the AFL. Our beat writers suck so badly it's not even funny anymore

Our beat writers suck so badly it's not even funny anymore The Hawaiian League is covered everyday. It's covered by MLB rather than the individual teams. ***You did see Lisa Winton's piece a day or so ago on our players in the AFL I assume?*** And the only reason I said I might ask Frisaro was if he'd bother ask in the FO, he might get a list faster than JR. Obviously the FO knows where everyone is doing.
