December 13, 200718 yr So, today for extra credit, my English teacher made us go to Free Rice UN Page and for every vocab definition you get right, you donate 20 grains of rice. I donated 3000 grains. It was also fun considering that the person who donated the most, got to replace two 0's with a 100. Try it and do something good for poor kids. Please dont delete

December 14, 200718 yr Author Its from the United Nations, not some random organization, so I do believe in it. If FreeRice has the rice to give, why not give it all away right now? FreeRice is not sitting on a pile of rice―you are earning it 20 grains at a time. Here is how it works. When you play the game, advertisements appear on the bottom of your screen. The money generated by these advertisements is then used to buy the rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice donated to hungry people. Thats the answer to why not give all the rice away. I thought the same thing
December 14, 200718 yr It's not the United Nations. The organization is saying that for every word you get right, they'll donate 20 grains of rice through the UN. If it was the UN, they'd have a much more UN sounding website. A quick search found nothing official from the UN, nor a press release of some sort. All I got was this: Blog 1 Blog 2
