October 25, 200322 yr As everyone knows by now, six years ago the 1997 WS ended on this very weekend with the Marlins pulling out a miracle win in Game 7. It was the first championship for the team and then the bottom fell out. We didn't have time to appreciate it or really grasp the full concept of what we had accomplished. How could we? Our Championship team was reduced to a Minor League squad within several weeks. Fast Forward to this weekend and we now have a chance to win our 2nd World Championship and possibly pull off the biggest upset in WS history! We have seen where this team came from and we all know how much this team has struggled to get here. If we do happen to pull it off, we will finally get to enjoy and be proud of an accomplishment that doesn't happen to very many cities too often(Chicago and Boston come to mind). So we must learn to appreciate this one more and remember the long road it has been since 1997 and we must realize that we have been very fortunate in that this will only have happend for the second time in 11 years. This is our second chance guys and our first real chance to fully appreciate all of this. Win or lose, don't forget how far we've come and how much we've accomplished. Enjoy and Go Marlins!!
