Retro_Marlins25
Although he is eligible to come off the DL today, Josh Willingham (back) is expected to remain sidelined all week. Manager Fredi Gonzalez told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Willingham still has some discomfort when taking batting practice. This isn't breaking news by any means, and Willingham owners -- this one included -- knew better than to leave him active this week. Still, the wait seems to be dragging on forever. Before going on the DL, Willingham was red-hot (6-16-.341), so his absence couldn't have come at a worse time. Keep your fingers crossed that Willingham will be ready for next week, when the Marlins host the D-backs and Giants.

geemoney
gonzo's gotta keep it up With his age and lack of arm and range in the field, I'm really surprised we haven't seen Brett Carroll at least get ONE start. I know Fredi said he'd get one in Milwaukee but never did. And I know Fredi likes to keep his bench guys fresh by starting them once in a while, but Carroll and Andino haven't started in a while. Maybe he just wanted to ride the hot streak, and now that it's broken, we'll get back to normal.

No reason to mess with that, especially the way we have been playing this month. Brett on the other hand...is Brett. The "hot streak" isn't "broken", we did score 7 runs yesterday, 5 without Griffey's error. We only lost that game because of Tank, not because of our hitting. Gonzo still had an RBI double yesterday. Regardless, maybe Fredi didn't want to change anything during the winning streak. That's what I meant, not necessarily our hot offensive streak.
