November 14, 200817 yr Why does everyone insist that the Marlins should pay for their own stadium if the Yankee's stadium is publicly funded? I had seen on ESPN that the stadium was using somewhere around $656 million public money. I just did a search and found an article that stated this: QUOTE ( THE ASSOCIATED PRESS @ Friday @ June 13th 2008, 2:07 AM ) About $941 million in tax-exempt public bonds have already been issued for the $1.3 billion stadium that the Yankees are building across the street from their current ballpark in the Bronx. The same article showed them trying to get another $350 million for it. And the Yankee's are known as the big time spenders, one of if not the richest teams in sports.
