June 4, 200917 yr I couldn't help but feel sorry for Penn as he walked off the mound trying to hold back tears knowing his career was over and he'd be gone as soon as the game was over. It's an awful feeling to fail so miserably and by your own hand and so publicly. But that's what comes with the upside of being a major league ballplayer. I wonder if the Fish pick up Mike Koplove? He probably won't clear waivers, and if he does the Marlins are going to be thrilled to put him in AAA. He's 24. Look at Dan Meyer now at 26, turning 27. Look at the Nelson's of the world. Penn still has good stuff if he could ever figure out how to throw strikes. Far from end of his career. Only team I can see claiming him would be the Nats. Padres don't have room for him with all of their out of option guys. Only other team I could think of that'd even try would be Pitt. I think some team will pull the claim him, DFA him, and hope they can slip him through waivers thing.
June 4, 200917 yr Quite simply you cannot walk 3 with the bases loaded. He doesnt deserve to be on our team. Maybe harsh, but thats the fact.
