June 26, 200917 yr With Michael Jackson's passing it got me thinking about whether 20th century music will hold up for generations. So whose music from the 20th century do you think will hold up and will be widely listened to 100 or 200 years from now? By "widely listened to" I don't just mean that he will be a well known figure. For example I think Elvis is a historical watershed figure who everyone will know who he is but I don't think his music will be widely listened to. I think the music of the Beatles and Pink Floyd is timeless and will hold up for 100 or 200 years. What do others think? Just curious, who do you think, if anyone, will hold up?
June 26, 200917 yr Definately Queen. Maybe a few songs from Bruce Springsteen and Oasis. I agree that the Beatles will always be popular. Tho it's pretty damn impossible to know what things will be like in 100/200 years time.
June 26, 200917 yr The beatles. Phil spector's 60's pop work. Michael Jackson. 'hey ya'. 'come on eilleen'.
