July 7, 200917 yr heyyyyy My main PC is having problems connecting to the internet. It keeps saying "acquiring IP address" and sends out packets but I have 0 received packets. The thing is, this only happens when connected to my wireless router. If I plug it right into the modem everything works fine. Now I've always dealt with issues by proccess of elimination but i've eliminated everything I can thing of. 1) It's not the ethernet cord, it works with the modems. 2) it's not the router, my laptop is currently plugged in via ethernet and it's working fine 3) it's not the router port, I've switched my pc and laptop cable ports and same issues 4) it's not the drivers, I've reinstalled them to no help. I've also restarted several times just to see if anything and nada. I've tried connecting to my routers IP and it won't connect to it so it has absolutely no connection to my router what so ever. Of note this happened a couple months ago too and just magically started working one day. Both times it happened while playing a game, but different games so I doubt it's of any relevance, the first one Wolf: ET and the second one TF2. Any ideas?
July 7, 200917 yr What you could try, depending on what kind of router it is, is with the wireless router plugged into the computer's ethernet port, type in the address bar the IP of the router. You can find that information online. After you've done that, there should be an option somewhere to change the channel that it's using. Change the channel and see if it works wireless. I wish I could be more descriptive, but i'm only good at fixing these kind of things when I can actually see what i'm working with.

Been playing around with the config on my laptop but nothing has come to fruition
July 7, 200917 yr Have you tired doing a factory restart on the router by holding the reset button for like 10 seconds?
