Posted July 11, 200915 yr ESPN reporter Erin Andrews was struck in the chin by a foul ball at a Mets-Dodgers game at Citi Field on Wednesday night -- news that sent a mini-panic through the Newsday office moments ago. When the news was announced by a deputy editor, fellow male staffers scurried to the Internet to learn the fate of the pulchritudinous sideline reporter. (One worried staffer asked, "Was it in the face???") Fortunately, it looks like Erin will be OK. As if the Mets couldn't be any more disliked than they are right now, it was journeyman infielder Alex Cora who hit the foul liner that struck Andrews in the fourth inning.
