July 22, 200917 yr Why not look at willy aybar, he is the ultimate utility man. (1B, 2B, 3B) In only 163 AB he has 7 HR, 26 RBI, 26 SO, 23 BB. I have no idea what the Rays would want, but salary should be a problem because Aybar makes $975,000 this year.
July 22, 200917 yr And if he is "the ultimate utility man" why would the Rays trade him when they are only 4.5 games back in the AL East and 3.5 games in the Wildcard?

July 23, 200917 yr Will Aybar is a very solid part-time player. But his utility ability gets him a lot of playing time in Tampa and his existence on the roster has made it easy for them to have the flexibility to overcome injuries. He's essentially a tenth starter for the Rays. His playing time seems to have a little bit with Zobrist emerging as an deserving all-star, but he's gonna come back down to Earth a bit and Aybar is still gonna get some at bats down the stretch to keep everyone fresh. Essentially, Aybar is more valuable to the Rays than his actual trade value, and thus they aren't going to trade him anytime soon.
