September 13, 200916 yr Although Serena was on the verge of losing anyway(but you never know), SOME F***ING LINES BITCH CALLED A FOOT FAULT ON HER WHERE THERE WAS NONE :censored. Serena went off on her which was her second code violation of the match(the first was when she broke her racquet when she lost the first set) thereby defaulting and losing the match. Serena took it quite well though when one of the officials told her that she defaulted and lost the match. I would've went ballistic. When was the last time a tennis match was decided by a blown call? I guess you can't challenge foot faults like you can challenge if a ball was in or out?
September 13, 200916 yr Author Serena never ceases to amaze me with her immature nonsense. I absolutely CANNOT stand her, and, as far as I'm concerned, I'm glad it happened. She doesn't take anything but the slams seriously, and then starts nonsense about not being number 1, she doesn't take the sport as a whole seriously and she's infamous for accusing opponents of cheating, or pulling the "well, I didn't say it at first, but oh yeah, I was actually injured this whole time" BS. Unfortunately though, Serena won't get nearly the backlash she deserves for threatening the official to begin with. Bad calls happen in EVERY sport, all the time. You move on and do your best to overcome them, that one foot fault didn't lose her the match, and she should have realized it.

I was sure I read on the ESPN bottom ticker that they were moved to Sunday and put still put CBS on at 8:00 just in case and they had a TV show. All afternoon CBS just kept playing the rain delay repeats without informing anything. It was an amazing sports day but missing this pisses me off.

Maybe they put them on the ticker and I didn't notice but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't put them (and fix their error on when the semis would be) on purpose so sports fans wouldn't tune away from their games. I don't have a problem if you're going to split interests, but if you're not 100% focused on your sport, you're not going to be the best, it's that simple. She does the mid-major events because she has to, she rolls over the nobodies and then loses to anybody worth a darn and then makes excuses about it. It trivializes the game to the up-and-comers because it sets the wrong example. Last night's display is only just a sliver of her expectation to have things handed to her. She went ballistic, stopped and then started AGAIN... why? Because she thought she was above the system and rules, like she always does. Good, now maybe she'll get fined and/or get docked ranking points.

The difference between Caroline Wozniacki (who, if you've followed me following tennis, meta huh, would know I've thought was great for a while) Caroline is a 19 year old, she SHOULD be finishing college. But, you see, it's funny, Caroline is wanting to take college courses, but IIRC, she also has the most total wins on the tour this year, too (or, at least top 3) because she respects the system and understands that the non-slam events matter, and that's besides the fact that she SHOULD be taking college classes. Elena Dementieva, since 2007 has won 149 of her 198 matches, Serena has won 117 of her 145. 5% difference in winning percentage but also a difference of something like 17 matches a YEAR. The Serbian women have also had mid-to-high 70% wins and... The best counter to Serena Williams is Maria Sharapova, who does modeling and fashion and all that other side stuff, remains competitive and (when healthy) played the side tournaments and the Fed Cup and so on and maintains a high 70, low 80% over that span. Serena holds herself above the sport and above the system, like I said before, her US Open nonsense is just an example of this. How f***ing lame was it that it took a SECOND statement before there was an apology... and why? I'm inclined to believe it happened because of the rumors she may be banned from future Slams... and well, that's all she has.
