1st Base option

Featured Replies

I've been working out of town for several months now with limited internet and cable access, so i don't know if this option has been mentioned. What is the word on Nomar? Does he want too much money? I would like to offer him a 1 yr deal. This would bring in a good bat, as well as get Morrison one more year of experience before being "the guy". Thoughts?

I'm almost certain the team has no interest in Nomar, nor any other free agent 1B at this time. Barring any terrible injury, we will see either Gaby, Logan, or Cantu at first (with JJ2 at 3B)

That's kind of what they seem to be indicating, i just figured if he was willing to sign for anything close to what he did last year (1 mil), then the opportunity would almost be too good to pass. He is capable of huge offensive numbers. This is all based on the assumption that he would be willing to play for us.

i thought i read somewhere that he was planning to retire. the only remaining free agent i'm interested in is hank blalock. if they can't work something out then it'll come down to morrison, gaby, or jimenez.
