  1. That guy doesn't know his nut sack from his elbow. If he's worried about marketability, try winning!
  2. I'm not even the least bit excited about it. It's so unfortunate that this team's management has done this to their fans.
  3. Can somebody explain to me why in the hell are we inquiring about Yuniesky Betancourt? Why have one Hechavarria when you can have two?!Is It too early in the offseason to mention that I hate this team???
  4. Can somebody explain to me why in the hell are we inquiring about Yuniesky Betancourt?
  5. Not saying I would do this, but I think taking a flier on Kevin Youkilis might be a risk worth taking. He is a good line drive hitter. He would have to be willing to sign. Since he has credibility as a player, that is doubtful.
  6. Why do we always jinx the hot players with these threads (half serious) Let's try to jinx Loria... Somebody would have to first write about how great he's doing!!!where is "..." when you need him?

  8. This was pretty hilarious. http://notsportscenter.com/gilipollas/
  9. What would a contender want with Ruggiano? Why would a team out of the race make a deal before the deadline... to improve? He's saying that no contending team will look at Ruggs as an asset.
  10. Still find it odd we haven't worn the road jersey at all this year except for the holiday edition. Loria is trying to phase out grey. It is outdated....
  11. IDK if I'd want McCann - he's regressing and the injuries are starting to pile up, plus people run on him all day long. I'd like to see how Brantly, Barnes, and Realmuto all develop. Although, right now, none of those three are hitting*, and Barnes isn't throwing many out right now ... eep. *Barnes has a decent average, but it's below his career line thus far. I would put McCann at first, if he were willing. He'll end up going to the AL though...
  12. when Morrison has been healthy he has been quite good. when he hasn't been healthy, he sucks. ...And he's never healthy, whch means he's worthless.
  13. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9302895/houston-astros-miami-marlins-chasing-dubious-records As you might have guessed, it's not a good thing. But on the bright side, having Stanton, Yelich, and LoMo back in this lineup should make it at least league average if they can stay healthy and produce when it is their respective times to join the club. Lomo hasn't done anything to prove that he will help this team get to "average". I believe he is part of the problem. We set the bar high, and he has missed the shit out of it...something we have become accustomed to....
  14. Another cheap-shot at Loria? That's unpossible. You defending Loria again...no way!
  15. Yawn. God could own this team and paid attendance (and actual turnstile clicks) would suck. 100 mill of payroll in a brand new stadium didn't do it last year -- there's no reason to expect that any level of payroll will be any different in any other year in the foreseeable future. Maybe 20 or 30 years from now after a fan base has been slowly built. The fanbase is not slowly being built. It is rapidly decreasing. I'm not 100% sure why you are so loyal to the clown that runs this team, but it isn't changing anybody's mind. It is a bit obnoxious.
  16. actually, maybe it is just me, but i thought hech was using a thicker bat today. i wish someone could find some pictures to compare. He might read these forums....thought it sounded like a good idea.... You obviously didn't see the post-game interview. He simply cannot read these forums lol I did not. I have seen close to 0 Marlins coverage this year. I believe you though...doesn't surprise me at all.

  18. Who said what about Hech and his "small" bat? The guy hits triples 'cause he's fast. Last time I checked, a skinny guy doesn't put a ball to the wall unless he hits it pretty solidly. And every once in a while a HR. 7 RBIs today Now, bring up Dietrich and Yelich in the next month and add them to Ozuna, Stanton, Hech, Brantley, Fernandez, Valaika and Ruggs and the inexperienced guys (over 1/3rd of the team) are pretty damned interesting to watch. They might even win a few games. I wish the rest of the guys wouldn't get called up until Loria gets the hell out of town. This management will screw them up, just like they've done to everybody else.
  19. He only hit a ball off the wall in one of the deeper parts of the park last night. No big deal. He only hit a ball off the wall in one of the deeper parts of the park last night. No big deal. yes that one he got square. but for example on other balls that he hits in the air that you think would go reasonably deep of the bat go nowhere. watch carefully tonight.Just because they look solid, doesn't mean they are solid.
  20. i'm surprised this hasn't really been discussed much on this board ... looking back at 8 wins in april 2012 and 8 wins this april, i've got to say that loria's not looking like such a prick anymore. with one month in the books, gutting the team doesn't look like it was such a bad idea after all considering we didnt have to spend what, 70million(?) for the same results? i was just as angry as everyone else at the time, but now? not so much. to top it off, the toronto blue fish are practically neck-to-neck with us. granted, the sample size is one month's worth of ball, but its worthy of discussion. You realize good teams still slump, right? Last year was a slow start. It was a bad year all together...guess what, those happen too. That doesn't mean it was a bad investment, like Loria thinks. He gave up on it too quickly. He is looking for a get rich quick scheme, when he should have invested, then sat on it. You can't dismantle so quickly whe the talent on the roster is proven.
  21. Ehhh, they will screw it up....
  22. HEY GUYS WEREN'T WE LIKE 19-29 IN 2003. JUST SAYING That is a little more comforting when you have all-stars on your roster... what do you mean? Weren't Dobbs, Ruggiano and Cishek all stars last year?!?!?Nice!...

  24. We now have a .238 winning average. We are on track to winning 43 games. Huge progress!!! We are no longer worse than the 40 wins Mets. By my math, that's 38 games...
  25. People get too uptight over curse words. In my mind, they're just words. They don't bother me. I do understand people with kids at the game being upset about it though....
