Need some advice.

Alright, so... I've been talking to this girl for some time now [since.. January?] and the only thing that's held us back is that she lives in Clewiston.

Now, that's not exactly all THAT far away from here, but when I move in July / August [to Ocala], I'll be about 4-5 hours away.

Now we really [really] like each other, and we've agreed we'd be OK with long distance as long as I'd be able to visit once or twice a month and talk every night, which I could do, no problem.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this work well? I really like her and don't want to let her go because of distance. :(

Depends, man, long distance relationships don't really work for an extended period of time.

The question becomes... how long would it before one of you would be able to move to live with the other? If you don't have an answer for that, you need one because you need a goal or date to work towards.

Oh a couple years before that's possible. :/

I've got no money at the moment and by the time I do it will be more than 730 days from now.

Hmm..

I don't know, nothing in life is certain. The rule is that long distance relationships don't work, but there are exceptions to every rule. If you have this feeling in your gut that it is worth the shot then go for it. If you're working towards something as simple as "I'll move to you when x is done" or some kind of goal, it can even be as vague as that. You then do your once or twice a month visits, if everything is going smooth then maybe it will work out.

Thanks, AH. This does help, even if it's not entirely what I wanted to hear. You put in your honest opinion, and then an optimistic view, I like that.

Again, thanks. :)

Some things take work and some things are meant to be. You'll know whether it is right or not.

The important thing is that she better not be a Mets fan because... that's just not cool. You need to train her like I do with my family. I go "What do we say?" with the trained response of "F*** the Mets!"
