Posted September 7, 201014 yr QB - Joe Flacco, Kyle Orton RB - Jamaal Charles, Shonn Greene, LaDainian Tomlinson, Justin Forsett, Leon Washington, Donald Brown WR - Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Steve Smith (from the Giants), T.J. Houshmanzadeh TE - Owen Daniels D/ST - 49ers, Steelers K - Ryan Longwell The league is a PPR league. Start 1 QB per week, and there's a flex (RB/WR).
September 7, 201014 yr Include league size... although I'll assume it's a 12 team league. Im eh on your QBs. Flacco would've been a pick of mine, so I wont say he's terrible but he's not amazing either, even with his new passing options. And with the RBs, you have a ton of garbage minus the potential of Greene/Tomlinson, and maybe Charles. But still, nothing that looks particularly eye catching in my opinion. You're also wasting bench space on 2 sets of 2 guys on the same team. You need to place a little more risk (i.e. only Forsett or only Washington, or in a better case, neither because they both suck). With the WRs, I love it. Deadly trio, and then a good bench WR. But you should really not waste so much space on RBs and get another TE. Your team has potential because of the strong WRs, although I think you're relying on We might as well make this a versatile thread.... 8 team league (so dont get shocked at my team) QB - Peyton Manning .................. BN - Donovan McNabb RB - Chris Johnson RB - Jonathan Stewart .................. BN - Joseph Addai BN - Ricky Williams WR - Roddy White WR - Mike Sims-Walker WR - Santana Moss .................. BN - Donald Driver BN - Derrick Mason TE - Dallas Clark .................. BN - Greg Olsen K - Ryan Longwell D/ST - New Orleans .................. BN - Miami Extra tossup, start Miami against Buffalo or New Orleans against the Vikings? Santana Moss (with his new QB) vs. Dallas or Donald Driver vs. Philly Eagles?

The Jets are going to run a lot, and I expect a very nice year out of Charles. The TE's, I was going to get Zach Miller near the end of the draft, but he was taken a couple of picks before I took him. I'm kind of worried about the QB's, and I'm hoping Flacco improves like Phillip Rivers (some "fantasy experts" have been making that prediction...he has a good arm, nice weapons, but I don't know yet because it hasn't been proven). It's a 10 team league.
September 7, 201014 yr Author As for your team, I think it's the opposite of mine. Everything looks cool, but your WR's are kinda questionable.
September 7, 201014 yr Here is the problem with your RBs... you have 2 1-2 splits. Even if the Jets are running a lot, they're split carriers. It doesnt matter if they're good or their team is running the ball a lot; LT is good enough to warrent more carries than your average backup. And the same applies to the Seahawks and having nothing else but 2 bad runningbacks. And Addai is, if healthy, the better guy in Indy. And in the case of fantasy football, why use 2 whole slots on guys that will combine for 100% of a teams rushing when you can use 1 guy who will cover 75-90% of the teams rushing on other teams (which is why Jamaal Charles is also bad for you! Dont forget about Thomas Jones!) It's why Ronnie Brown is a bad RB pick, because of Ricky Williams.
September 7, 201014 yr As for your team, I think it's the opposite of mine. Everything looks cool, but your WR's are kinda questionable. There is no doubting Roddy White. Outside of him though, I've got question marks. Will Sims-Walker produce again? And will he actually play the full season? Was last year a fluke for him? Will McNabb influence Santana Moss, or will he be a dud like always? If the arrival of TJ Houshmanzadeh the end of Derrick Mason? But I think the best part... Greg Jennings will always be a GB sucker pick, because Donald Driver always manages to top him or match him. But yeah, I'm not really excited with my WRs, and normally I'm the opposite on that matter.

Dont forget about Thomas Jones!) It's why Ronnie Brown is a bad RB pick, because of Ricky Williams. The Jets run the ball so much that both RB's will be very relevant in fantasy. They ran the ball over 600 times last year, by far the most in the NFL. The way Sanchez has played in the preseason, and the way they play to win with their defense, that philosophy isn't going to change. Thomas Jones will be irrelevant, I think. Jamaal Charles reminds me of Chris Johnson. The guy can really run. Charles was the 2nd best back in fantasy last year in the 2nd half (when he finally started getting a chance) behind only Chris Johnson. He's a great pick in the 4th round, which is where I got him. I agree about the Seattle guys, and I'm still kinda pissed about that. I took Forsett over Jahvid Best for some reason, and I actually wanted Best before the draft started. Forsett's not a bad back though; Leon Washington will likely be released (I'm going to wait a couple of weeks to see how they do, to see which one I drop). As for Donald Brown, Joseph Addai is aging, so I'm hoping for a Joseph Addai injury pretty much lol. Regardless, I'm only starting 2 RB's per week most weeks. Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, and Steve Smith will be my flex. Basically, my 3rd best receiver is arguably a good #1 fantasy receiver. All 3 guys were in the top 8 last year for WR's, in terms of fantasy points.

I think Driver will be somewhat less of a factor too because Jermichael Finley will probably step up and get more targets than last year. All in all though, I actually think Driver's your 2nd best receiver. At least the most consistent and reliable after Roddy White.
September 7, 201014 yr Agreed on the consistency, and technically by numbers Driver is the 2nd best, but a lot of people dont remember that Mike Sims-Walker put up 869 yards and 7 TDs last season... but in 15 games. He might be good for 1000 yards, and his TD production is great too. He's pretty much option #2 after MJD in Jacksonville, I think because he plays for Jacksonville he pretty much gets silenced though. I'm really hoping that this is finally Santana Moss's year (ever since he declined, I mean). With a new QB you never know. Although he's getting a bit older now... and I've made the Santana Moss mistake before too..
September 7, 201014 yr Charles is awesome...I currently have drafted in 3 leagues and snagged him in each one...hope he doesn't disappoint
September 7, 201014 yr I like your team overall, but you might have taken so many good WRs that you were left with very little at RB. I like the Charles pick, as I think he is one of the most underrated backs in the league, but he could turn out to be very inconsistent throughout the year. I don't see anyone on your list of RBs who is a lock to give you a solid number of points almost every week. If I were you, I would try to get an elite RB for Moss if someone will take him. Both him and Brady are aging, and he's been complaining about the team recently. Then start Johnson, Smith, Charles, Greene, and whoever you get back in the trade. Don't forget that just about all of your RBs are either starting out the season as the #1 RB for the first time or are about to retire, so you could use some more comfort room.
September 9, 201014 yr Author Drafted this team tonight. QB - Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler RB - Steven Jackson, Jonathan Stewart, Reggie Bush, Michael Bush, Donald Brown WR - Steve Smith (Giants), Bernard Berrian, Jeremy Maclin, Devin Aromashodu, Steve Breaston TE - Dallas Clark D/ST - Jets K - Rob Bironas Same settings as the first league I posted. Forgot to mention...both leagues I'm in count 6 points for QB TD passes, not the standard 4. Thoughts on this team? Is one team better than the other?

It's stupid if you ask me... Im definitely a fan of your first team though, rather than this one. Your WRs are all filled with potential, but nothing too great other than Steve Smith. Great RBs though, Stewart will definitely see some carries on one of the worst teams this year. Great TE, but I like WR heavy teams more than RB teams to be honest. Anyways, I drafted today as well - 8 team league, 6 pt TDs for QBs QB - Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb RB - Jamaal Charles, Johnathan Stewart, LeSean McCoy, Thomas Jones WR - Andre Johnson, Wes Welker, Donald Driver, Santana Moss, Vincent Jackson, Steve Breaston TE - Antonio Gates, Visanthe Shiancoe K - Ryan Longwell DEF - Green Bay, Miami

I like that team that you posted. Really nice. The only thing that can truly stop it is that Drew Brees is on the cover of Madden, lol. But seriously arguably the best QB in Brees, hands down best WR in Johnson along with other very solid guys (Welker is a receptions beast if healthy), arguably the best TE in Gates, one of the best D's, and the RB's you already know I like. I'm a big fan of Charles, and Stewart should put up solid production even though he's not the every down back there. McCoy won't be bad either; he's a starter / good at where you have him in terms of role on your team.
