(AP)—Former Major League outfielder Carl Everett is in a Tampa jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with a witness. Jail records indicate the 39-year-old Everett was arrested Monday night at his suburban Tampa home. He was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail shortly after midnight and is being held without bond. Details of the arrest were not immediately available. Everett’s attorney, Clinton Paris, did not immediately return a call for comment. Everett played Major League Baseball for 14 seasons. He began with the Florida Marlins and was traded to the New York Mets. He also played with the Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox, Montreal Expos and Seattle Mariners.
