Millwood NOT Returning

Featured Replies

Dec. 4 - The Phillies have pulled their three-year offer to Millwood off the table, with GM Ed Wade telling the Philadelphia Daily News, "The likelihood of getting something done with Kevin was pretty remote." Wade instead dealt for Minnesota's Eric Milton and has crossed "starting pitcher" off his offseason shopping list.

That leaves Atlanta and perhaps the Mets as potential suitors for Millwood, who reportedly is seeking a five- to seven-year deal at around $13 million per year. With Gary Sheffield all but off the Braves' books, Atlanta could move to bring Millwood back. The New York Post reports that the Mets have discussed pursuing Millwood but suggests he might be too costly for their budget.

No Millwood in Philly. :thumbup Although it looks like he might stay in the division.

Nothing like giving up Punto and Silva to replace Kevin Millwood with Eric Milton. Boneheads.

It souns like the Phils are confident enough in their staff and Wagner to make it through. Ooh boy! They'll have three lefty starters, two lefty relievers and a lefty closer.

Ok Punto was a bench warmer and was A Utility infielder. The Problem: The Phils already had two better Utility infielders, Punto in NO WAY was going to be a significant part of this club.

Silva was a decent reliever but is breed to be a starter something he could never accomplish in Philly but this coming out of Philly...

The SAME GUY that called The Milton trade(He called THe Conference Time, The Guys involved and everything two hours before anyone knew anything abou this) has said that The Phils will offer Millwood arbitration

I have already said it a couple times.

lol...wont help much against our right handed line up

good news

I don't buy it. Millwood said mid-season he didn't like Philly that much, and the fan abuse later in the season couldn't have helped.

Just sounds like an attempt to get draft picks.
