December 14, 200322 yr I know we got Urbina because we were making a run, and I had no problem trading away Adrian Gonzalez for him, but we basically traded for him and used him for half a season, and now he's gone, and so is Gonzalez. I know we did what we wanted to do when we got him, but we gave away one of the best prospects for a player who was only used for not even half of the season.
December 14, 200322 yr I would like to keep Urbina. He was a dependable Reliever for us, in tight situations, he always saved Loopers Games for us! It would be nice to get him back. Dont be too sure, he may not go to the Phils. The Twins are making a run for him too....
December 14, 200322 yr Author Can you PLEASE stop talking like Benitez is one of the best closers of all time? He's sucked BIG TIME last year. If he didn't, more teams would want him.
December 14, 200322 yr Just because he sucked last year, doesnt mean anything. He can always pitch like his has in the past. He was just too wild last year, that was the only problem. A little work on Mechanics and he is set.

THANK U DAWG!!!!!!!!! our boy Wayne will have him working hard give em some tips make em better...... i mean the man was ILL only 2 years ago!!!!!! 1 bad year = Decresed pay... we need to take advantage of this and give em a 3-4 year deal... L.B knows what he is doing that why we are Fav to land him us and the Jays......
December 14, 200322 yr Look, even the ESPN Baseball specialists agree that Benitez would fit in well down here, in a small-market media environment. He won't have the pressure that the Mets, Yankees, and Mariners put on him.
December 14, 200322 yr He sucked BIG TIME last year. Are you kidding? You think that going 4-4 with a 2.96 ERA and 21 Saves is sucking? :lol
December 14, 200322 yr Did Benitez suck? No. But we wouldnt be getting him at such a good deal if he had pitched well either. Dont let that fact escape you. Are all our problems solved with Benitez (if we get him)? No, we get new ones. Benitez has always been somewhat shaky as a closer. At times, he could be among the most dominant in the game. Other times, couldnt get an out. I think NY spotlight had a lot to do with that. The guy has good stuff, but will have to regain control and confidence to get it done. Now, for Urbina. I wish we kept him. I said all along that we should be thinking of him and not Looper. Because of the price we paid to get him, and what he brings. Could you imagine if we had Urbina and Benitez in our pen? With Fox? Whew...that makes me sweat...oh well though.
