the problem was not the move when we traded him, although that trade was obviously absolutely stupid when it happened given that it was obvious that Cashner was awful, the problem was that we had the opportunity to sell high the year before (reports are that we were trying to get Judge or Greg Bird from the yankees) and we didnt depite the fact that he was a reliever on a terrible team and then decided to just throw him in to a trade less than a year later when his vaue was at his lowest.  

 

It was a consistent problem over the last 5 years or so where we consistently sold low on guys and bought high on others despite obvious regression that was inevitable. 

 

You really took my post and ran with it.  I was just posting that the dude got DFA’d.
