December 30, 200322 yr Mike DeJean - R - Baltimore Orioles Dec 30 Orioles signed RHP Mike DeJean, who had been with the Cardinals, to a one-year contract. Jorge Julio should be happy that the Orioles decided against pursuing a top setup man. DeJean has experience as a closer, but he's just a slightly above average reliever. He should do a decent job as the No. 2 right-hander in the Baltimore pen, but it's unlikely that he'll be a serious threat to Julio's job.
December 31, 200322 yr DeJean? He didn't do bad in NL, but I wonder how he'll do in AL. But O's are only helping their bullpen now instead of SP.
December 31, 200322 yr Author I don't think this is as good of a pickup they could've used there money for though... Through and through it is still a good pickup.
January 4, 200422 yr I like DeJean and even though he's a relief pitcher, he can also be used as an emergency starter if absolutely necessary. I saw him start a few games for the Rockies back in '99 and he did a pretty decent job I hope he does well for the Orioles. Happy New Year everyone
