January 6, 200422 yr Link PHILADELPHIA -- NBC 10 News has confirmed that Phillies great Tug McGraw has died at the age of 59. A Philadelphia Phillies representative said McGraw died while visiting his son, country star Tim McGraw, in Tennessee. McGraw was diagnosed with brain cancer last March while attending Phillies spring training camp. NBC 10 News was told McGraw took a turn for the worse Sunday and was in a coma. "The Tugger" was one of the most beloved Phillies of all time. In 1980, his final strikeout clinched the Philadelphia Phillies one and only World Series title. A left-hander who threw a screwball, McGraw was a bit of screwball himself. A fan favorite in New York, Philadelphia and all throughout the majors, he was known for both his distinctive gestures and colorful quotes. McGraw's playful personality often overshadowed his talent. He was an outstanding big-game pitcher, helping both the Mets and Phillies win World Series titles during his 19-year career.

January 6, 200422 yr OH my god, At least his last memory on a baseball field was a great one, reenacting his final out in The World Series, that was the conclusion to the vet sendoff and was met be a standing ovation from 70,000+ THank you Tug for that only WS Banner you gave the city and I'm sure the phillies will leave a place for you right next to Richie Ashburn for you at your park.
