January 22, 200422 yr Well for some reason my computers homepage changed to C:\WINDOWS\hp.htm and everytime I try to set it back to what I had before it works but as soon as I turn off or restart my pc it goes back to the C:\WINDOWS\hp.htm Does anyone know how I can fix this? If you do it would be a great help. :thumbup
January 22, 200422 yr http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ download it. after you finish installing, open it then Check For Updates. It'll update for you then scan it by using "Perform smart....". It'll delete spyware on your pc.
January 22, 200422 yr Author I already have ad-aware but hadnt downloaded the update so I did and ran it but it still doesnt work. :confused Any other suggestions.
January 22, 200422 yr Try deleting the Temp. Internet files. Go under tools Internet Options Delete files, check the box then OK. Try using blank as homepage.
January 22, 200422 yr Author Blow up Internet Explorer. I wouldnt mind it especially since I dont use it anymore. I got Avant Browser. But either way I get the same problem by either browser.

Well it looks like a search engine with a search bar on top. Then a bunch of catagories from Sports to News to Penis Enlargment Yes Penis Enlargment. lol

January 22, 200422 yr i gotta prob too i dunno what to do i just stoped using ie but everytime i wanna use ie and click open to new window a huge page comes up of spam what i do to take taht out? and how u delete teh spyware?
January 22, 200422 yr well you can use one of the spyware tools that are available or if you know what the actual piece of spyware you have is... you can physcially delete that program and all dood.

January 22, 200422 yr What a timely article. I just started having this problem at work and couldn't get rid of it using Ad-aware and SpyBot. I'll give the suggestions in the article a try tomorrow......thanks!
January 22, 200422 yr i download spybot righ tnow and its still teh same... there are a lot of suggestions in that article. if none of those programs work, you will have to remove the offending hijack from your registry. i dont know you, but i wouldn't trust most people to safely remove things from their registry, so i suggest you try the hijackthis program if none of the other programs work. after you get it, you'll have to post your log on that forum and have someone tell you what to take out, but it's much safer than deleting things in your windows registry by yourself.
