January 24, 200422 yr After all the failures of this off-season, it is clear that many are catching on to his game. Boras appears to be on the ropes.
January 24, 200422 yr Author That's why he is the best. Most people, including myself, do not like him, but he's #1 because of things like that. The best? Hardly. He WAS the best, now GM's are hesitant to deal with him, and I may be wrong on this but I believe that none of his "high profile" players have signed this off-season (Milwood doesn't count because he took arbitration, knowing what was ahead for him). Boras was once great, but his inability to gauge "fair" market value, and put his clients bests interests forward have made him far less effective as an agent; this offseason especially.
January 24, 200422 yr Scott BorASS doesn't realize that those negotiating tactics were fine back then when players salaries were balooning to a ridiculous amount. I think the whole baseball world realized how ridiculous it was getting when A-Rod signed that contract. The baseball market is not what is used to be. It seems like virtually every team is slimming payroll now (aside from Baltimore, New York Yankees, and Boston)... It's not gonna work for him this year, and I hope his credibility suffers as well. He is bad for baseball right now.
January 24, 200422 yr He will lose more and more clients because he's starting to get on everyone's nerves.
January 24, 200422 yr I haven't seen his clients dump him yet....just hoping that is the next development. :thumbup
