January 31, 200422 yr Marlins announce 2004 promotional schedule ? 43 promotional dates MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins today announced the team?s promotional giveaway schedule for the 2004 season. Fans will be treated to 43 promotional days during the season at Pro Player Stadium with giveaway items commemorating the team?s World Championship. Vice President of Marketing Sean Flynn made the announcement. "In an ongoing effort to make the stadium experience more exciting to our fans, we have created a series of promotions for over half of our home dates," Flynn said. The Marlins will open the season with five promotional dates during the first six-game homestand of the year. All fans will receive a 2004 magnetic schedule courtesy of Publix on Opening Day, April 6th. On Thursday, April 8th the team will offer a Marlins World Champion Collector Pin presented by Spirit Airlines to the first 10,000 fans. The weekend of April 9th, fans will have the opportunity to receive a giveaway at each Phillies game. On Friday the first 10,000 fans will receive a Marlins collectible poster courtesy of the Miami Herald. The first 30,000 fans for Saturday?s game will receive a Marlins World Champion replica ring presented by Miccosukee Resort and Gaming and all fans will be treated to a spectacular fireworks show following the game. The Easter weekend will conclude on Sunday with a Marlins World Champion T-shirt for the first 10,000 fans. The promotional schedule includes other exciting giveaways such as: the Josh Beckett World Series photoball on April 24th, the Dontrelle Willis ?D-Train? conductor hat on May 8th, May 22nd will feature a Mike Lowell Russian nesting doll, a Marlins World Champion baseball cap is scheduled for June 19th, a Jack McKeon ?Jack in the Box? will be distributed on July 10th, August 7th will feature a Billy the Marlin piggy bank, fans can beat the heat on September 4th with a Marlins World Champion reversible floppy hat and the first 10,000 fans on September 5th will receive a talking bottle opener featuring the voices of Marlins broadcasters Felo Ramirez and Dave Van Horne.
