February 11, 200422 yr If anyone knows, I was wondering if spring training is open to the public as soon as pitchers and catchers report or if it is not until the first Spring game or some time in between. If anyone knows some help would be great.
February 11, 200422 yr the drills on the field are open to the public. These fields are in the back behind the batting cages at Roger Dean. Good chance to get autographs as players walk from field to field where they are doing their drills. :hat The champ
February 11, 200422 yr I'd like to go one the day that pitchers/catchers report to practice. I want to see Beckett practice out there, and be able to sit out there without having a lot of people around.
February 11, 200422 yr There are tons of people there though that go to the workouts. It's crazy. And it's pretty small as well, It' not a very big space that fans walk around in as opposed to the stadium. I went last year for the Cardinals workouts there and it was packed, even the Expos one last year was insane. It's pretty hard for the players to say no as they move from field to field since they are in direct contact with the fans, but Pujols managed to brush me off rather easily and a bunch of other Pissed off fans :thumbdown I got J.D. Drew though as he was coming out of the porta-potty last year though. :mischief
February 11, 200422 yr Im going to the workouts... Its alot of fun watching them workout, hopefully i can meet LCastillo over there. But i think i might only go to Ft.Lauderdale stadium this Spring training.
February 11, 200422 yr Where are these held??? The workouts at roger dean are held on the practice fields, located around the Main Field. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main stadium or about a 2 minute Trolley ride.
