How to get from MIA to PPS

Featured Replies

I was recently asked to help someone find their way from Miami International Airport to Pro Player Stadium for a Marlins game. I haven't used any of these services to go to the stadium since most Floridians don't need to go from MIA to the ballpark and back, but it is possible.

There are three options:

Rent a Car and Drive Yourself:

From Miami International Airport...

Take Route 112 east to I-95. Take I-95 north to Ives Dairy Road. Turn left and proceed west for five miles. The stadium will be on the right. Disabled entrance at Gate 4.

Miami-Dade Transit:

Dade Transit is the cheapest option, but the most stressful.

*Remember to ask for transfer when first boarding bus and for directions. The bus driver will not bite your head off and will help you, so please ask before you get lost!

Routes are named after streets. I.E. Route 27 serves 27th Avenue. You must signal the driver to stop the bus to board and to get off. Signal to stop about a block ahead. You can only board buses on bus stops which are clearly marked by bright white, blue and green signs with Route numbers on them.

1) From MIA, take Route 42 to the Transfer location with Route 27

2) Transfer to Route 27.

3) Route 27 will leave you in front of PPS.

It would be faster and more direct to take the Turnpike Extension north from I-95 at the Golden Glades interchange.

Not only is it longer, but there are many traffic lights on Ives Dairy.

Not only is it longer, but there are many traffic lights on Ives Dairy. It's actually the Turnpike, not the Turnpike Extension, and you get off at NW 199 Street or Dan Marino Blvd.

If you are flying in specifically to go to Pro Robbie why not come in through FLL?

I agree, fly into Ft Lauderdale, take 595 West to Turnpike, head South til Dan Marino Blvd. 20-25 minutes drive tops, low traffic

Mass transit from Fort Lauderdale to PPS requires you take Tri-Rail to MetroRail, transfer, then take the Metro to MLK and transfer to Route 27.

Or take the Tri-Rail to the Golden Glades Station and get on the Miami-Dade Transit shuttle bus to the stadium. Call ahead to see if the County will be offering that service for the games.
