1. I agree w you , well stated and I'm fine with a wait and see approach with new ownership.Maybe he is ok. Just the stigma w him and Loria is a bad taste overall ( good thing I have my soda machine to get a drink from) it's just intriguing to think about fresh start with all new regime. That's all, If he stays on that's fine. I am thankful he got stadium done. It was needed for sure. As a fan all I want to see is success of franchise in every aspect of organization. Hopefully those days are on the horizon sooner than later.
2. Ok Mr Samson, you take care now
3. Wow.. what I nice guy you are. I was trying to be decent. Geez! Obviously I offended you and your man crush. Ding fries are done!!
4. Well not for nothing, but if the ballpark is his only claim to fame and albeit still a controversial topic to this day. Then I'll take my chances elsewhere. If there were a list of good things he's done and terrible things he's done and said I'm pretty sure the bad side would be longer.Thats all I'm trying to say is unfortunately the bad has outweighed the good w him and current regime. Instead of being a dick and saying I don't value your opinion. I'll say we'll just agree to disagree on this. No problem As someone who is critical of the organization as you mentioned. I'm sure we prob would agree on other things. Since there's several concerning issues with our fav team. Good day
5. I would say it's definitely better to be little know publicly than being known publicly for bad reasons such as seems to be the case like you mentioned for Mr Samson. There are a few that are known publicly outside their teams regions. Seems like many have "of baseball operations" in title. Though but like I said I'd rather ours be less publicly known instead of known like Samson is known or thought of.
6. Yes thank you! You're absolutely right. I agree with you on Samson. Even if no one else does. Hes certainly not competent, like mentioned prior: incompetent is more like it.
7. You were just making a honest opinion as we all have that right on here. So here is mine. I just feel in the grand scheme of things, especially going forward that Samson needs to go too. As bad as he is on PR issues I think some of his PR blunders prob could be somewhat looked past IF and it's a huge IF he was considered a top MLB team President but as we all know. He's no where near that status. He did help get the stadium I know but (Aside from being in part of strong arming stadium approval) the other major blunders that have occurred under his watch are just too much to ignore from someone who is basically the face of day to day operations. New face, new blood, new voice and leadership are a must if / when team is sold.
8. That's probably bout the best way to summarize this hole process. Smh...
9. Just to correct myself: Lockes fewest ER was 1 in his first start. Since then 3 and up up and away!
10. Even though they are AA.. chances are they prob won't do any worse than Locke. Lowest ER total in all his starts was 3 I believe and highest was tonight's abysmal performance so these guys can do every bit of that or possibly better so .. why not?
11. Uh... pretty sure anyone can give us what Locke has given us so far... aside from a decent overall 1st start. All downhill ever since and progressively worse since.Get me somebody, anybody.. and someone while I'm waiting.... Have you seen enough?
12. Love the raffle idea for the rest of us. I too enjoy the pledge packs each year. They do a great job keeping them interesting and fun plus the ticket vouchers are always appreciated and a nice touch. Only thing I wish is that maybe they eliminate a hat or two and replace with some other item or another Tommy Bahama item. Otherwise no complaints at all and love what they do with this great cause for education and the community.
13. Ditto: Time to return the favor and own their house. Since they have pretty much owned Marlins Park. Go get em!
14. I'd say yes to Dyson, certainly club could use a lift back there and he would be low risk / high reward potentially. However I rather the Marlins stay Latos intolerant.
15. It was, until the pen strikes again. Walks will bite ya in the ass every time. Then Zieg comes in and poof!! 1 run scores, 2 runs score....I can't even watch him pitch. I go do something else.
16. Yes, they were actually 26-32 going into play on June 1st 2003. with all due respect that 2003 team had a bit more talent especially on pitching staff. However, saying that and being pleased w this current stretch. This is much closer to what we kinda hoped to see this yr. At least one starting pitcher pitching quite well. Although Not sure who thought that pitcher would be Straily but we'll definitely take it every time! Plus bullpen pitching better as of late and the core offensive guys doing what we need and expect them to do more often than not. So hopefully they're gaining some confidence in that clubhouse and In each other while washing the stink off too. Until the ownership/ Front office blows it up and sends us back to '98 fire sale or every other fire sale... ah screw it , who's still counting? About # 4 or so??
17. I agree it could be a huge blessing if Jeter becomes the man. That is the outcome I'm hoping for the most. However it's a huge IF. Would he join the Stewart group? obviously Jeter is very respected and plenty admired to gather his own group or stay in the group he currently is in if they add some additional investors to replace Bush and gain the total money needed. Don't really see him joining Stewart group. Is Glavine even still a part of that group? Haven't heard, anyway Jeter is still the best hope. How it gets to that point doesn't really matter. Just hoping that will be end result.
18. Hard to read this comment and disagree with it. Seems like whatever this group tries to do, no matter the intention. It still backfires. •Whiffing at Stadium naming rights during all this time Especially since most new stadiums already have naming rights wrapped up and new sign plastered on stadium while the paint is still drying, even (prior to the holding off on the search during sale of team)•The botched TV rights deal that is worst in MLB. which Samson admits they got wrong and maybe that's part of the hold up with the stadium naming rights.( Before the sale of team postponed it.) Afraid to make another mistake. Who knows? Just kinda seems like black cloud is always around this group that continues to follow them. No matter how promising something looks it seems to always somehow fall apart or not materialize like they hoped
19. Hey everyone, while we sit and wait for new news on sale and in midst of a miserable stretch. Just a what if scenario that we're all free to express what we'd do as new owners whenever that day comes: what would you do or want to see the most? Reach out to fan base, give current regime vote of confidence?make immediate changes to staff or something else? Just for fun: since team sadly isn't providing much lately but hopefully that winning streak starts tonight:
20. Yes I did find the article I believe you're referring to as I saw a quote you posted from the memo. Yes the hotel and bed tax will cover a substantial amount and yes the politicians are the ones who have the most egg on their faces from that decision and were voted out of office shortly after correct? These quotes are interesting that's all. They find his claims on the matter to be half true and still disingenuous. So I'm basing my opinion on facts that have been made available and things he's actually done right? So if you believe the article you read instead of the hundreds of other articles on the subject of the deal. How is that any different?
