  1. This is a local Boston band called Rising Karma, the lead singer is a friend of one of my friends--they usually fill out their sets with some covers and I just loved this one when I saw it live. This is probably their most "singleish" song: And this is my writeup on the band for Bostonist.
  2. Just wanted to say that I made it back safely, and had an amazing time at the game on Sunday (makes sense, being a win!) Highlights: 1. Two of the people in my section left the game for good in the 5th inning when it was 6-1. Nice fans! 2. They came on the scoreboard to say that the kids' run around the bases was canceled because of the weather and the fans booed so loudly, I thought that there was going to be a riot. 3. I was standing in the concourse watching the 8th inning on the TV to stay out of the rain and clapped the nice grab from Cody, and some dude stopped leaving to yell at me, "Who the f*** are you? Get the f*** outta here!" I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or not so I kinda glanced back at him and he said, "Yeah, you. Get the f*** outta here!" It was all I could do to keep from cracking up as he walked away and headed to the exit. 4. Unfortunately, my sister and I saw no other Marlins fans the entire game. On the way out, we saw three guys in Marlins gear take the train before us back to Manhattan, but that was it. We did run into a Red Sox fan in a Lowell shirt though. That was the first time I have been able to see the Marlins since I moved away from Ft. Lauderdale so it was a great experience and uh...let's just say that if there are, oh, I don't know..."extra games" later on this year past when the season usually ends...I will try to fly back to Florida to see some of these games. :thumbup
  3. I voted for Anibal's because i was there in the stadium when it happened, lol. Voted for Leiter's for the same reason.
  4. And btw, who cares if you get killed? Take one for the team!!! =P You're right, Ashley, I'll suck it up. So if you hear of a Marlins fan getting stabbed or something on the 10th, just know that I did it cheering the Fish on to victory! :clapping
  5. Alright as I mentioned earlier, I am going to Shea for the game on the 10th of next month. So for anyone who's been there, is it alright to wear Marlins stuff? I mean, they don't really care about the Marlins up there, do they?
  6. Well, look at the bright side... everyone now knows his name :| I was thinking the same thing. :| When they told the story about his dad wanting to see him play in Yankee Stadium I said "be careful what you wish for..."
  7. Books. I want to have my own library. I've got a ton of books that are just in stacks/boxes right now, but I'm moving to a new apartment in a couple months and plan to make books an integral part of the decoration using weird storage techniques like invisible bookshelves. Should be fun.

Not really a "phobia" necessarily, but I absolutely can't stand ketchup, the sight or smell of it is enough to keep me from eating anything.
  9. When are you going? Rabbethan and I are actually going up next month. Same thing. Going to both Yankee and Shea. But what I wonder is will I get killed if I wear a Red Sox jersey? We are actually seeing the Yankees play the Red Sox. Should be fun, huh? lol I think I'm gonna do the Yankee/Shea trip later on this summer with my sister, but we won't go to a Yanks/Sox game (unfortunately--though we went to one in Fenway in '04). We will, hopefully go to a Fish/Mets game though, wearing Marlins stuff. :thumbup
  10. Those pictures are so clear and look really good. what camera were you using Thanks! Glad you liked them. I have an Olympus E-410, I actually just bought it less than a month ago so I'm still working out some of the tricks etc, but so far I'm pretty pleased with it.
  11. I love visiting other parks. Great pics, thanks for posting em. Yeah I mean, Fenway is my home park now but this year I've been starting to plan some "local" trips, hopefully to Shea for a Marlins game and Yankee Stadium (not for a Sox game, too much $$$) before they close. Doubt I'll have enough for the classic Red Sox Nation pilgrimages to Baltimore and Toronto, but there's always next year. (Plus I may be holding onto a bit of cash just in case there's October baseball in Miami this year. :mischief )
  12. I was a Ron Paul supporter, but most likely won't vote in November.
  13. Went to the Red Sox game yesterday and ended up with some decent shots (including of Beckett warming up in the bullpen). Enjoy! Also went to Cask 'n Flagon afterwards...highly recommended if you're visiting Boston and going to a Red Sox game (be nice to the staff though, my sister works there! :thumbup )
  14. I've met and had brief conversations with a few people from various bands before and after concerts...off the top of my head, Adam and Mark from Taking Back Sunday, Andrew from Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, William from The Academy Is... and Cyrus from New Found Glory. There are two graduates from my high school who are like "friends of friends" who are currently in supporting roles on TV shows: Josh Gad is on Back To You (FOX) and Seth Gabel--who went by Seth Cosentino in high school--is on Dirty Sexy Money (ABC), and he was also on Nip/Tuck. He's also married to Ron Howard's daughter. Both of them graduated like 3 or 4 years ahead of me.
  15. A couple good friends of mine from a few years back, and some other people: Bombadil Very different sounding...check em out. (If anyone lives in NC, or somewhere they're going on tour, their live show is awesome.) I see they are playing at Hideaway BBQ on the 18th. Hideaway BBQ is awesome. Really liked that sample song on their site too. May have to go see them next Friday. I've been looking for a good place to take this other couple out with my wife and I and this could be a good match. Thanks for the heads up. Hah, I almost directed that post at you because I know that you would have an opportunity to see them and I had a hunch you may like the band.
