  1. What a deplorable act this was. We can argue until we are blue in the face about whether this was a hate crime, whether this was a terrorist act, etc. But what does this mass shooting have in common with the many other mass shootings that have occurred lately? That's the common thing. The ole AR-15. The fact that the FBI couldn't really stop him from purchasing this great gun is a joke. There are two problems that continue to arise here: 1) The AR-15. 2) The inability to really do some type of gun control in this nation. Every gun should be registered. Every gun should have the gun owner go through a full gun safety class and a full background check prior to purchasing said gun. Is an assault rifle ban needed? Maybe. Maybe not. But something is needed, mostly because the little we do currently simply isn't working. There is a huge mental health care issue in this nation, and nobody seems willing or care enough to really look into this issue and find a real solution to it.
  2. What a crock of shit this fucking thing has turned into here. First off, you have a fringe group within the Republican party playing these stupid games. Thinking that they are able to dictate what the hell happens in Washington because well, they feel like it. Big thanks to the American Taliban, aka the Tea Party. My general thoughts: 1. The Republicans are morons because they let this insurgent group within their party dictate what they do. 2. The Democrats are morons because they caved to the insurgent group many times that nobody thought they would actually hold to their principles this time. 3. The American People are morons because even though Congress hasnt sniffed at 20% approval ratings in 5 years, the leadership continues to win re-election. "But its never my rep!!!" This nation used to work nicely. Sure there were spirited debates up in Washington. That didnt prevent Congress from actually doing their jobs. Its radicalism at its worst. I dont know who blinks first and actually goes back to the tenents of their political party AND decide that my own radical principles doesnt actually produce results for the United States of America. This Government Shutdown is stupid. But because some members of Congress basically played fuck you with the budget, it happened. The debt ceiling is going to not end well. These horses asses in Washington will continue to play their moronic games and in the end the people left holding the bag full of shit is the American Public. Furthermore, I for one find it beyond funny that the Republican Party as a whole are and have been playing this deficit game whereby they are crying about the nation spending too much money. The deficit has gone DOWN recently. The deficit is so high due to: a. funding two wars. b. creating a bigger government (which is ironic as Republicans were in charge) In the process lowering taxes. Its kinda like trying to solve the problem after the hens have escaped from the henhouse. Thoughts. Comments. Reaction.
  3. Its an honest question I raise. Let me put out a disclaimer here for minute first, I think both major political parties in the United States of America have lost their focus and are two groups of people who cater to the far fringe groups in their parties, thus neglecting the vast majority of people. Of course, the vast majority do not care, as evidenced by the results at election time. Now having said that: Sandy Relief voting: Nay: Ted Cruz - Tx Johny Cornyn - Tx Tom Coburn - Ok James Inhofe - Ok Following the explosion caused by those morons running that plant in West, Texas Ted Cruz quickly requested aid for Texas. John Cornyn quickly did the same. Following the tornadoes in Moore, Ok yesterday, Senators Coburn and Inhofe requested federal relief. So Mr. Senator's, what is it? Is Federal Aid only something to be sought ONLY when it affects your home state? Or shouldnt we be more logical about things and realize that in times of disaster across this great nation, we should offer aid to our fellow citizens? I know, the Sandy relief bill was full of pork. It goes back to how both parties are pandering to the fringes. There shouldnt have been any debate in the matter. Hurricane struck the Eastern Seaboard, aid shouldnt have to be requested. The Senate and Congress as a whole should be rubber stamping all aid bills in times of crisis like this. I mean hell, Congress rubber stamped two wars for most of the 2000s and didnt bother to ask for any sort of checks and balances. Thoughts?
  4. The teams are the individual parties. It makes no sense for the Republicans to support Obama's initiatives when virtually every one of them goes against the party's stated ideology. One could also argue that nearly all of Obama's initiatives could be considered detrimental to the country from the GOP's standpoint. While this is fundamentally true, in order to effectively legislate in this nation, you have to be willing to work out compromise. Its what we have seen in this nation since 1776. Yet for some reason in the last 10-12 years, especially in the last 5 this has seemed to have been ignored, which hurts the American public overall. Both parties are of the ilk that if they dont get their way, they are going to take their ball and go home. Nobody wins when this happens.
  5. I go back and forth between the evils of the two parties. Neither of the two major candidates appeal to a moderate. There is no real moderate candidate out there which is a problem. Since the media does beyond a bad job in actually covering this election, I am still researching the candidates from other parties. I will probably end up voting for Gary Johnson if enough of his platforms align with what I would like. Else I will vote for what we know in Obama as opposed to the constantly changing platform of Romney.
  6. Dr Beinfest loves to hear himself talk. Which is why nothing ever gets accomplished in this nation that will truly benefit anyone. Wow, I'm one influential guy then. Awesome!!! Trust me you are not the torch bearer. Just one of the many sheep out there.
  7. I hate Jews. Which candidate hates Jews again? Im for that guy. None have professed any hatred for Jews. You will have to either a. sit out the election b. try to read between the lines c. pick another issue of which to base your vote.what about limiting the rights of women? I'm for that guy. Help me out bro. Make mah vote count. I will start a series on various important voting issues this evening. I'll be sure to make that one of the first ones I cover. And please try to speak intelligible English and not some uneducated garble. Thanks.
  8. Your brand of social justice. So in essence we can deduce you are a fan of a gridlocked Congress? Which is essentially what I was 'trying to sell'
  9. Let the extreme faction of the Republican continue to rule the elections and I wouldnt be totally surprised if that movement is began. Ah, you're one of those people. Which website's your poison? The Raw Story? HuffPo? Think Progress? Im none. If you want to believe the tea party (the extreme faction), which won going away in 2010 has done good for this nation in terms of things moving forward and things being accomplished then i have some prime waterfront property to sell you in Arizona. This nation has simply moved to a political system of extremes, if you cannot see this then you either a. live on the extremes or b. simply do not care.Your second sentence/paragraph was pure troll magic. I'm going to remember it and use it in the future. Define please. I'd like for the definition of troll to be established so that we may use it going forward.

I don't buy what people like yourself sell. What exactly am I trying to sell?

  13. Fair enough, so instead of a real discussion of the issues, you just like to hear yourself talk. Excellent discourse. Dr Beinfest loves to hear himself talk. Which is why nothing ever gets accomplished in this nation that will truly benefit anyone.
  14. The only troll around here is the school system of which you were a part. What a disgrace to the future of this once great nation.
  15. We agree on something. Same question to you. I'm actually like all politicians and I only answer questions I want to and in the manner that I want to. Fair enough, so instead of a real discussion of the issues, you just like to hear yourself talk. Excellent discourse.
  16. Andre Barnett. Because he would probably beat anyone in a fist fight. This nation continues to lose collective IQ points by the minute.
  17. Let the extreme faction of the Republican continue to rule the elections and I wouldnt be totally surprised if that movement is began.
  18. Until this nation has a nationalized religion they really should not be legally allowed to deny any same sex couple the same rights allowed for opposite sex couples. The same should apply to states as well, as this is not really a 10th amendment issue allowing them to do whatever they feel.
  19. I'm voting for myself because I feel I am more capable than any of these clowns. So you refuse to answer the leading question. Impressive.Sorry. I'm on my phone creating jobs and facilitating economic growth. Maybe when I'm unemployed and living off the system with all the time in the world I will answer. I'm sure you are. Yet you have time to spew your mouth full of total nonsense in your down time. Again, impressive.
  20. We agree on something. Same question to you.
  21. Gary Johnson Why? Or are you being like all politicians and only answering questions you want and in the manner you want?
  22. I'm voting for myself because I feel I am more capable than any of these clowns. So you refuse to answer the leading question. Impressive.
  23. In the spirit of the 2012 election, what issues are truly important to you? As such, why are you voting for a certain candidate over another?
  24. Not to get into the whole Iraq war argument, but this is almost nothing like Vietnam. Less deaths, and no draft. Sorry, but those are two huge factors. Only comparison is that there's no point anymore. Or arguably ever was. well thats the comparision purposes for Vietnam and Iraq. Both are essentially stupid in just about every aspect you look at, soldiers dying for no real reason. While the total aggregate dead is not on the levels of Vietnam and there is no draft... To say that Iraq is this generation's Vietnam..i.e. miserable pointless failure is not that totally off base.
  25. Its a good first start. Its something that should have been done years ago, but thats what lobbyists do for you. The bill is definitely watered down somewhat, should have had even more teeth to it, but again, thats Detroit and Big Oil for you. I still find it both comical and riduclious at the same time how the cost of energy has skyrocked 10 times inflation in the last couple of years and we ultimately wonder why recession is knocking on our doors.
