  1. :plain "It is very bad to take Jobu's rum, very bad!"
  2. :whistle I heard a sports guy from 790 the zone in Atlanta say this morning that he believes that the Marlins are the leading contender for Danny Graves. There has been some talk in Atlanta about him coming to the Braves but he believes he will be in Florida. From behind enemy lines, Fish and grits 007.
  3. The talking heads for the Atlanta Braves were talking about the division and how close all the teams are in the division. They were talking about how tough the division is and how it will be a close race all year. They quoted a writer from the Washington Post who stated: "that none of the teams are great and all of the teams in the division have pimples." Interesting quote. Lets hope we have enough of skin care products to win the title.
  4. I feel like everything will work out for the Fish. This team is too good and been too successful since 1993.
  5. 1. Of the Marlins farm system-Hammerheads and very close second would be the Mudcats. 2. Of the minors in general, I would go Zephyrs, Biscuits, Barons, Nuts, Mudhens, and Durham Bulls.
  6. Todd is a fellow Alabama native so I am big TJ fan. I am glad his career is getting back on track. :whistle
  7. parent and assistant coach and unofficial PR director.
  8. :whistle The kids have had fun as well as the parents. Our team slogan was "The fish are biting." We are having shirts made to celebrate the championship season. Teal with white lettering.
  9. :lol The t-ball Marlins won the league championship Saturday morning by defeating the Braves. Hmm!
  10. I read an article about the stadium issue and in the article they mentioned the league ok'd the name change to Miami Marlins. When would this take place? Is this why they don't wear the road unis with Florida on them? Any ideas what the new hat would look like? Just wondering.
  11. NolaMarlin, That is awesome! People don't understand how you fall in love with New Orleans and its teams. I only like the Zs and Saints from Louisiana.
  12. NolaMarlin, Deanie's is my favorite place in whole world. I think Boudreaux is awesome. The hats are sweet. I lived there for year and half. I am also a big Saints fan. I am a grad from New Orleans Baptist Theological seminary on Gentilly.
  13. Good to hear from someone from my second home. The deal between the Zephyrs and Nationals is only for two years. It could happen the switch to the Marlins. I am back to Nawlins last week of April and Thursday of that week I will be at the shrine on airline with Deanie's in Bucktown food on my shirt. You know a Billy bobblehead would look nice next to Boudreaux at work!
  14. I used to be a huge Indians for many years but have been more minor league baseball with the Zephyrs and Barons over the last five years. Here are teams that if you gave me their clothes I would not wear: Braves, Mets, Devil Rays, Dodgers, Giants, Blue Jays, A's, or Astros. I used pull for the Red Sox but the whole curse thing got old.
  15. :confused Teal fever is sweeping over me. I found myself pulling vocally for the Marlins yesterday. What are the steps to full time Marlin fandom? Here is what I have now: Two Marlins hats: one t-ball game day and one t-ball practice. one teal t-ball proud dad jeresy, and one 1998 white home jeresy. Do I need to recant any loyalty to other MLB teams?
  16. :mischief2 My apologies for lame attempt at humor.
  17. Ooh, ooh, ooh, Didn't look good ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Took a beatdown ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. ooh, ooh, ooh, Another one coming tonight ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Maybe we should stay with pro wrestling ooh ooh, ooh, Doesn't the chop mean first down?
  18. I also liked the BP hat with the different hat logo. Lids. com has some new mlb hats by Nike. Pretty sweet!
  19. In honor of opening day, I am sporting the circa 1998 home white jeresy. Our AC is out and we can go tshirts and jeans. I am carrying casual day to another level. Question: Am I the only person who though the all teal hat of 1993 was cool? Remember the fish are biting
  20. Yes open for business. Am I detecting a Round Rock XPress fan?
  21. Birmingham, AL or the Braves bandwagon west. I grew up here and have lived in New Orleans and Memphis. My family and I live back here now. My favorite team is the New Orleans Zephyrs. I got hooked on the Zs living there for a couple of years. I also follow the Birmingham Barons. I used to be a big Indians fan after Major League the movie but really have over the last five years followed the Zephys. I am thinking about buying our team Billy bobbleheads to go with their trophies. mlb.com outlet has them for $5.97.
  22. :notworthy I wanted to take the opportunity to wish the Marlins the best of luck to the Marlins. My child has just started t-ball and is on the Marlins. The more I wear the colors, the more I am wanting to become a full time Marlins fanatic. Never under estimate the power of teal. By the way, the Marlins hat is one of the best in baseball. Greetings from Birmingham, fishandgrits
